engine flooding out!

It's a 1967 johnson 40hp. It runs for a few seconds then fuel pours out of the hole in the picture. what could it be?

Carb has garbage in it or the float isn't shutting off the fuel, will need to be taken apart and inspected.

Thanks. I have the rebuild kit here but no manual yet. Was thinking the float needle too.

I have the same carb and same problem, did you get it fix.

clean and rebuild you carb with a kit. it will fix it. also if not done, change all fuel lines to alcohol resistant lines.
