have a 3.o litre inline 4 and a Alpha One drive... need to remove them to have some transom repair done..Think I can remove them OK...but how hard to get back together? Heard you have to have a tool to line up the drive with engine..Is this a job for a pro ? ,,,,Thanks,Pete

Re: engine/drive removal

It really is a piece of cake especially if your engine mounts are good. If they are not then you will need to fix them and then do some adjusting to make the engine line up with the drive right. DEFINATELY get the engine alignment tool though. they are not that expensive. Should take an afternoon or a bit more to do. When you put the transom assembly back on the boat make sure you use marine silicone on the seal. Some say you dont need it, but I swear by it. Good luck<br />m
