Another question...when I am tubing with the family, someone may fall off of the tube and I throttle back quickly to nuetral, the motor has started to die. It will restart and run just fine, this has only happened a couple of times, is there something about this that I should be checking out?

backwash coming up the exhaust?
Slow down easy, to keep your engine from ingesting water thru the exhaust

If you have a Mercruiser, it could have a lower shift cable starting to go bad. This will cause the engine to die when coming out of gear.

Thanks for the replies! Yes I do have a Mercruiser 470, Alpha One. If it is because of the lower shift cable, then this could also relate to another thread I had involving my transmission grinding a little bit when I shift from forward or nuetral to reverse?
