My 2002 5.7 EFI stalls after running for a period of time when I shut it down and start it back up. It fires up and runs for 30-45 seconds then sputters and dies. At first I thought it was bad fuel and I emptied the fuel filter, turns out it was only half full. I dumped it and filled it back up, ran great. The next day same problem, and fuel filter only half full again. After reading another post on here about a similar situation I think it’s a vapor lock. The fix was said to insulate the fuel lines... my question is do I insulate the braided lines coming out of the filter to the block? And what would be sufficient insulation? A larger diameter hose sleeved over?

welcome aboard

check your fuel pressure
if its vapor lock, simply opening the engine compartment will lower the temp enough to verify that.
