Well she’s put away for the winter, but one of the things I want to work on in the spring is the engine cover. Top half flips up, bottom half is three sides so it can slide or flip out of the way.

The wood on the top half has deteriorated enough that the hinge has gotten a bit sketchy so that’s a no-brainer. I’d also like to fab up a loop at the back of the engine cover that goes over the motor but will sturdy things up…since it’s just three sides it feels flimsy.

One other thing that needs replacing are the handles on the sides of the cover. Any idea where to find replacements for these? I don’t want rigid handles cause they would be right in your ribs when you’re sitting in the jump seats.

Just use some web strap for the handles. use a a 2X2 along the rear of the cover to stiffen it. use 1/2 PT CDX plywood for the engine cover. use some fiberglass cloth to reinforce the seams, and you will not need any other cleats or blocks.
