I have an old Johnson outboard. On the cover there is "40" and "electric seahorse". Under the cover, however there is no electric starter motor or electric ignition and no power supply for lights etc. However there is a room for the starter and a flywheel with gear. Under the motor there is a plate saying something like: "op. range 4000-5000 rpm and rated power at 4500 rpm 28 hp. Too less for a 40 hp engine!sr: 2304344 mod: RX-10R What motor do I have?

Re: Engine cover not the original?

Thank you for the instant reply. So somebody has chanced the cover. There is a rubber coated button which is I quess for stopping the motor. The other cord of the button is grounded but the other is unplugged. Can anyone say where should I plug it in order to stop the motor? I have seeked possible points to fit the cord but not found. :p
