Hello, I just bought a 98 Christcraft 24' Open Bow. And I am looking to buy the lift assembly for the engine (sundeck) cover for my boat. The previous owner had completly removed the factory parts. Can anyone direct me as to where to go to get the parts I need? new or used would be fine with me.
Thanks,
Sam

"Lenco" or "Hardin Marine" are 2 popular makes of engine hatch lifts. You will need to figure out the open versus closed dimensions (inches, etc) so that you can order the proper model.

ChrisCraft could probably tell you which brand/size they typically used for your boat.

Be ready to pay about $300+ for the thing . . .

Re: Engine cover lift assembly

Have you thought about just installing gas shocks instead of the lift mechanism? I have a large sundeck and while it would be huge in the cool factor I don't really see the sense of it?

My boat has a queen size sundeck, I pull a strap in the center to release the latch and lift the sundeck up, its no big deal at all.

I did exactly that when the engine hatch lift lift on my 1999 24' C*C express failed. I had to install a couple latches to make sure the engine hatch would stay closed, but it all worked fine and cost me less than $100. for everything (gas shock, brackets and latches). I used these guys- they have a really big selection of shocks and brackets of all types:

As for contacting Chris*Craft, give it a shot, but... good luck. They've changed hands too many times, and the current owners didn't retain documentation on the older boats.
