I recently posted that I was working on making my own decals for a 33 evinrude after finding them for $70.00, I purchased " waterslide decal paper" online with mounting liquid for $20.00, 10 sheets of which I used 2 and I bought a can of Krylon glossy acrylic clear sprey for 4 bucks. So considering I could do 5 motors with these materials it cost me roughly $5.00. I found the artwork for my motor online easy enough. and If I couldn't find it I would make my own on the computer. The printing came out good, but because the decals were so big I had to make them in two parts and then line them up next to each other on the hood. That part was difficult and the fact that it was my first time and I had no clue what I was doing didn't help. I did get the job done, but they are not perfect. as long as you don't look to close I can live with it.

The other thing I did was to have my brother make a mold of the "E" emblem on the hood. He cast it in brass and gave me a half dozen of them so I mounted where the plastic one had been.

here are a few links to the photo's Ronnie

WOW! That looks factory quagmire. Very impressive. I wish I had the know-how to do that.
Enjoyed the pics,

quagmire60: So would you make me a set for $5.00? Just kidding. I think you did a very nice job. Would you be willing to tell us more about how you did the decals? Do you print the decal on a printer or is it all hand painted or just how do you go about it once you get the right material. No matter I think you've done well. Rick.

They look great!!! They may not win "Best of Show" in a restoration contest, but an A+ for resourcefulness & cost savings with excellent results!

The brass "E" is better than the OEM.

They will eventually get scratched up anyway...Well done!
