Engine Confusion

I am replacing some pistons and rings in a 1992 mercury offshore model outboard (2.5 liter v6 200 hp 3.5 inch bore) I have been looking for pistons and rings and found what appears to be the correct size but have seen "will not fit offshore model" under it. Does anyone know what the difference is between these models or is this a mistake. I have been searching the net for parts since this is much cheaper than local dealers. Any info would be appreciated..

In my book they are the same. If you are going back with standard then the pistons from wiseco are $79.99 each and the rings are $19.59 per set. The Pro pistons are $69.95 each and the rings are $17.50 per set. The prices are the same for .015 .020 .030 and .044 over bore sizes.<br /><br />whitesmarine@tds.net
