Hello, I am trying to make a performance air intake system for my 5.8L Ford engine, OMC Cobra sterndrive. I am looking for ideas on putting a round air cleaner holder 12" diameter, 3" height connected to two flame arrestors on opposite ends of the system mounted to the carb. the reason for this whole complicated system is there in very little breathing room under the rear bench seat where the carb and flame arrestor are and i wanted to get the flame arrestor into a more wide open space. Any ideas would be helpful and if any more info is needed just let me know.
Thanks

Re: engine air flow

Check this link to a web site that may be of some help to your airflow problems... Specificaly, look at the K&N flame arrestors/filters and Gaffrig arrestors which are all USCG approved...

http://www.cpperformance.com/Dealers/products/Fuel_Systems/085.asp

I'm not sure, but the USCG along with your insurance co.(if you have one) might have an issue with what your contemplating... Flame arrestors are VERY inportant and are not something to fool around with...
