Engine access w/dead battery

I know you can remove the main power switch and attach a jumper pack - however that is not working, I believe I have a dead cell in the battery.

So how do you manually get the sun pad to come off to access the engine compartment? There has to be a way.

Any help is appreciated.

Are your hinges exposed? If so, you should be able to remove them and go in that way. I am installing a power lift this winter and the thought had occured to me, as to what to do, IF...
