Emergency kill switch/ ignition disabled?

Another question, have always wondered, even before my current BF50 remote - If I want to spin the engine with the electric starter, to fog cylinders, check compression, etc., I can just pull the plastic "fork" out of the emergency kill switch, and there is no need to worry about grounding the plugs, or damaging the ignition system - Right??? There would be no power to the ignition, I figure.

Thanks,

Thank you, Captain S. - I just needed to confirm what I already believed. I was thinking of making an aluminum plate, threaded for 3 sparkplugs and with a battery clamp for grounding, when I realized that the kill switch would be better.

Thanks again,

You can bet that thousands of people have cranked their motors over with the kill switch detached, completely on accident. If that would cause damage you'd have quite a few boats lined up for new ignition systems.
