Emergency Help, Merc Alpha 1 Shift Toe Position?????

I seperated the lower under upper unit to do the impeller and never looked at the position of the shift toe on the splines. How can I check and set the correct position.

The book I have makes no menition of it.

Ayuh,... Everything is held in Forward Gear... Then it all aligns up...

When turned fully clockwise, it should be pointed straight forward, at max counterclockwise it will be approx 45?

If you go up to the adults only sticky and download the oem service manual (#6) it will show you all that information.
