I'd like to change over my ignition system to an electronic one. I have a 1970 120 Mercruiser 4 cyl. S/N is 4953389. Was there ever one made for this engine or subsequence engines that would fit, or even an aftermarket product that would work?

Thanks so much, Trent. I really appreciate your timely and accurate reply. I will be ordering this tomorrow. I see you are an AP&P mechanic. I to am "hooked" on aircraft of all types. I've been to Oshkosh 2 times so far and I also have 25 hours of flight time toward my private. Again, thanks.

Yes I do like warbirds. P51's and the like as well as the BIG ones... bombers, Liberators, not to mention the latest and greatest, from the F-14 thru the F-22.

Beautiful P-51. I walked through the P-51 "parking lot" @ Oshkosh last year just as several of them were starting up to taxi out for their part in the show. It was thrilling to hear them start and run with all of that power, and be standing just 20 ft. away. You're lucky to be enjoying those pristine aircraft on what I is guess is your workplace. I tried reading the .com logo on the pic but was unable to. Feel free to post more of those aircraft you have there and thanks for this one.

do not know if it is too late, but i replaced my points with electronic ignition from www.aaamarine.com. they are the only ones that guarantee a hp gain by using their conversion system. i have been pleased with mine. easy install. i gained 2.5 more mph after installing. it was 179.99, but well worth it. i know that other conversion kits are around 80.00, but any extra hp i can get from my four cylinder will help. anyway, just a thought.

Thanks Propnut. Unfortunately is was too late as I had already ordered the other one. Price wasn't a consideration to the extent that the one you have wouldn't have been my choice. I appreciate your input. If the one I ordered doesn't work I will return it and order the one from AAA Marine. Thanks.
