Electrical Schematic

Hello all. Is there a site where would can get a schematic/drawing/block diagram or such that would help me understand what is involved in the ignition system of my '88 Mercury ssn OB308702. I'm trying to relate the boat's ignition system to a car's ignition system. As always thanks for any help you can provide.

You could always buy a manual. Make one repair with it and its paid for itself. Or try your local library and copy the pages you need out of their's.

is there a web site that shows the electrical schematic of a 115 hp 1979 mercury motor from the boat controls to the motor I bought a project boat that had the eletrical wiring harness ripped out of it and need to rewire the boat

Not very likely you will find that info on the web. That motor is a six coil ADI ignition correct?
Wires are white for +12VDC ign accessory, orange is grounded to kill the ign, grey is choke solenoid, black is ground, brown is tach signal, yellow is +12VDC to starter solenoid to crank it. Red is unswitched +12VDC.

You need run battery cables tru the quick disconnect as well. Black is ground, red is +12VDC
