Hey all - Jake here from down in New Zealand. I am having some real trouble with my BF90 and I would be so great full if someone could help!

I accidently shorted out the positive battery feed for my starter motor to the side of the outboard. Now the trim doesn't work at all. when I try and start the outboard all I get is a click and then nothing. I have replaced the main fuse which was blown, but that didn't change a thing.

The starter was out at the time and myself not paying attention decided to raise the outboard - and put the battery terminal on - I started lifting the outboard and then it just stopped and I was like oh no!

can anyone help me - surely someone has made this horrible mistake before!:grumpy:

Re: Electrical issue BF90 - my bad!

an update. I got up early this morning here down under - couldn't sleep anyway. Tried to start engine - all I get is a load TICK. I check all connections positive, grounds etc and they are all clean and the engine is well grounded. I remove the start signal wire from the starter and used a screw driver to bridge between this and the main power wife and the starter cranks into life, so the starter is good. I then tried to start the engine with the signal wire still OFF the starter and the same load "CLICK" is still apparent. tracing the wires back it seems to be coming from one of two places. Directly this little hub of wires off some form or relay or indirectly the CDI unit.

help?
