Re: electric trailer dollys

Hi Bassman Ray, check and see if the company has a web page where the different models are listed by weight capacity. I used one years ago for a heavy 26 foot travel trailer, it used a 1 HP traction motor with chain drive and moved the trailer like it was made of paper. Only problem was the unit didn't have brakes and you couldn't reverse the motor until it had stopped and it wouldn't stop, it free wheeled, it was very exciting, I turned it a quarter turn and jammed the tire sideways to stop the trailer, this also tested the strength of the unit, it passed. I added a harness and connector to use the trailer's electric brakes. Something to consider before going down hill.
