Re: electric shift stern drive

Do you have the correct oil i the drive ?

You can test the voltage at the connections to be sure FULL power is getting to the clutches

Fresh oil and fresh OMC/Bombardier Premium Blend Oil could be an issue.

That unit should use Type C oil.

I took off the prop hub to check my drive pin and everthing was intact out side of the lower unit

Re: electric shift stern drive

If your hub is slipping the shear pin will still be ok and everything will/can look like normal.

I would try to run the boat with a different prop.

After that you need to do what the previous poster suggested and measure voltages. You need to measure the voltage with everthing connected so that you don't get confused with a resistive connection.

Re: electric shift stern drive

Hopefully that is your problem.

What condition was the prop after you hit this stump?
For future reference, bad idea to keep on running with a mangled prop if that is what happened. They are usually way out of balance.

some dings off prop dosnt look good, will replace. i went up north with a 14x14 i got off ebay in the winter cheap and wasnt getting any good speed but a lot of tourqe, so i swapped out my spare rebuilt and hit a rock/sand bar were i got the dings you could feel the unbalance later that day i hit an unmarked submerged stump that likely un did the hub so i acully think ill look for a faster prop probobly a 14 x 21? @ 5,500 max rpm

14X14 to 14X21 is a HUGE (7") change in pitch. what is your current WOT?
