I am rebuilding a pontoon and am planning to put an Elco 20hp on it. Does anybody here do electrics? I am starting to have set up questions.

It seems all the electric setups are pretty new, and ever changing.
I'm guessing not many people have gone down this road yet.
I would look to Elco and their web site for specific info.

I'd be curious to know your set up as well.
Looks like motor, controls, monitor, harness, tilt, batteries, and charger could run anywhere from $6,000 to $12,000 depending on your setup.

Please share what you are doing, and what you find out.

Lots of videos, search "how to install an elco electric outboard" on youtube.

I have talked to Elco several times. They said you put it on and plug it in. I am trying to find someone who has done the whole project. Battery installation and electronic throttle and all. Elco's videos kind of gloss over that. I will post pictures and comments as I go along. Wr just put most of the new deck on the boat yesterday.

Dig a bit of digging.
Recommended battery is a 48 volt, 175 AH LiFePO4 battery (#216) @ $3,800 usd.

Requires a special, 48V, 35A charger @ $600 and charging pigtail @ $250 the best I can tell
