TIA,

89 mercruseir 2.5. The electronic choke takes for ever to open, most of the time I have to pull the cover off and open it myself to get her going.

I've cleaned linkages with carb cleaner, tested for binding or sticking, seems ok.

How long is it supposed to take to open?

I'm assuming less time than three minutes..

Whats my next step here?

Time to replace the choke element.
Is the cold setting OK? If it is set incorrectly it can take longer to open also.

I'll check the cold setting, but it hasn't been tampered since factory set..

Where might one find a replacement element? Been through the shop manual, it says that the electronic choke and air horn are the one in the same, and must be replaced accordingly.

Thanks!
