She is a nice piece of watercraft. However, her wiring was not the most 'up to code' I've ever seen. Dashboard is a conglomeration of hither and thither direction, and no power coming at the ignition or dash panel. I have identified the power to the dash, but there are a lot of mystery ground wires I cannot identify.

To the punch line, I need an electrical schematic for a '71 Chieftain (Starc raft). Starcraft is of no use to me so far. I know it has to be out there, please help........

In the 70's most outboard hulls came from the factory with nothing under the dash for wiring. The dealer added the engine and if the customer wanted anything that needed wires the dealer would run 2 wires from the battery to under the dash and hook it up. Some dealers would just tap everyting off of the key switch and use the small black wire in the harness as a ground for a bunch of stuff ( not a good setup) anyway. They would hook up the lights at the battery and the pump and let it fly. (Or sink) You will not get much help from the factory. You will find some good diagrams at the head of this page. Look for silvertip and others.

Look at the stickies at the very top of this forum. There are a couple of "Generic Boat Wiring Diagrams" shown. You don't need a specific diagram for your boat.
