We had a lot from the old communist countries: East Germany, Russia, Lithuania, Albania etc etc.<br />Also got the usual suspects: the African/Arab nations.<br /><br />The biggest embarrasment here is the way the government tried to spin the story initially: they said the imms had been detected turning up for work for the first time thanks to "vigilant staff" (probably illegal imms too ) but it then turned out that some of those detained had been working there for years............and just think of all that tax that the Gov lost

I can't wait till Monday, it will be intresting to see how many cleaners don't turn in to work at government buildings.<br /><br />Mr Blair may have to empty his own dustbins for a while.

@RPJS I just wonder how many of our hospitals and corner shops won't open on Monday <br /><br />Techno: yep! but the sad thing is they're losing all that income tax and National Insurance that the imms would have been paying if they'd been legal.<br /><br />Our biggest trade unions are calling for an amnesty on working illegal imms so that will be interesting.............
