Editing thread title

Occasionally I make a typo or just realise that the thread title could be improved.
It always seemed strange to me that the edit function does not allow you a second shot at the title....you are locked in to the mistake and there is no second chance.

Quite by chance I found out that you can in fact access that "Title" block and make changes. Select "edit" ....and when the editing window comes up, select "edit" a second time and you get a different editing screen that includes the original title.

I suspect that many long-timers, mods, and those who are in other forums that use this software already knew that, but it may be of benefit to others like me....;)

Re: Editing thread title

You can get access to the title for editing if you click on "go advanced" after the first edit screen comes up, Tim.

Well, once i posted this (of course..after the fact...:)) the "Similar threads" box at the bottom of the page had a number of posts on this topic.
After a week apparently, the "Advanced" option will not get you to the s[pot to edit the title, my method does.
As a test, I tried a three month old post and was able to modify the title.

That latter ability probably is not all that useful.
