Edit Thread Title?

Hi, I searched a little bit on this issue and I didn't see anything. I was wondering if there was a way to edit your thread title. I noticed the title of one of my threads has a typo and it's bothering me. Thank you.

On the main page of the forum, find your post and double click to the right of the title until to bring up the text box.
It will look something like this.

Thanks for replying Don. I tried this on Google Chrome and Internet Explorer and it didn't seem to work on either. Could it be a moderator function only?

I guess I accidentally inserted "1950" into the wrong place and it moved the "i" away from the "capri" so now it reads "bayliner capr 1950i" where it should read "bayliner capri 1950". This has been bothering me for some time now so I thought I would just try to finally fix it.

First, click Edit Post.

Then click Go Advanced.

Now you can edit the title.

This should work, @Nickypoo if either one of these suggestions do not work then let me know and I will see if something is causing an issue.

Yes, I just logged in as snod (he's not a mod, just me) and posted in this forum, and was able to change the title.

There is a time limit on being able to change titles, around 3 months I believe then it's locked. I notice the thread you were trying to edit is from June and well past that time limit.

I found an old thread I did to test changing the titles of old posts back in April, http://forums.iboats.com/non-boating-technical-topics/how-editing-title-thread-542967.html

I just went back as snod and tried to edit the title and couldn't, I also tried using the Go Advanced button, and while I could get to the title edit, it would not change the title on the main forum page.

If you want something changed on an old thread, you can always have a mod change it for you.

Thank you for helping me with this. I can live with the typo if it's not too easy to change it. Good to know that there's a 3 month time limit, I will keep that in mind for future posts. Just out of curiosity how would I go about asking a mod to change it? Is there a particular mod that presides over the resto domain?

Doesn't make any difference which mod, we all cover all forums. Just send one a PM, any of us can change the title. Takes all of 10 seconds.
