I have an Edelbrock 4 bbl with manual choke an OMC Ford 302 cid.

What benefits can I get from an electric choke?

Right now we pump the gas 5 times, then give it a fairly high idle to start. Will converting to electric choke let me start at low throttle with low RPM?

Will I have to add a choke switch somewhere or does it open and close the choke on its own?

In my opinion, in warm weather, an electric choke is totaly worthless.... Might see some benefits in cold weather....

That first start up of the day is going to be the same even with an electric choke...

Re: Edelbrock Manual Choke: Go electric?

have to agree with snapper on this one, I have an electric choke on an edelbrock, and it works well, the only prob i have is when i go to the gas station and turn the key on to watch the gage as i fill the tank (my boat is trailered) , this opens the choke prematurely, then when I go to start the engine, the choke is already open but the engine is cold. guess I should put a seperate switch on the choke...........
