Re: ebbtide boats

I know they are one of the few remaining independent boat builders in the average consumer market. I recently looked at buying a used 2004 24 footer but was beat out by a higher bid. They wanted 5000.00 initally and the boat was pretty well trashed if that tells you anything. They got 6500.00 for it in the end and the seller delivered it 1000 miles away. I'm not sure what that says for reputation but it does say something for the consumers desire to own.

Re: ebbtide boats

Nice, solid boats with a good rep. My first boat for the fam was an early 70's Ebbtide Lakemaster 15-ft trihull. Was a great ride, powered by a 73 Merc 500 50 hp. Wish I had kept it.

Re: ebbtide boats

I'm still trying to find info on mine, so this reply probably won't be very helpful. About a month ago, I got a '93 18' Ebbtide (avatar and sig). It appears to be pretty solid, but I don't have much to compare it to. I don't find much info on them, and I certainly haven't seen one like mine yet. What are you looking at?

I believe I read on here somewhere that they are one of the few remaining builders who hand-lay their fiberglass, rather than vacuum forming. I don't know if that makes a huge difference, unless your vacuum-formed hull fails. (I may have some of that terminology wrong).

Reliability of the drivetrain I believe is pretty universal.

I don't know where they rate in peoples' opinions (higher-end or lower).

Again, are you looking at a specific model?
