I have noticed that some people on here ditch Ebay one minute then suggest it the next. My personal experience with ebay has been pretty good. I have had a few problems but always with low priced items. All my big purchases have been great. I think the biggest factor is checking out your seller and seeing what others have said about them.. Thats what the feedback is for... But really guys keep buying your motors elsewhere,,, keeps the bid price low for me, :) )

Re: Ebay

I agree about e-bay - mostly.

My experience is that MOST of the folks are pretty honest in their descriptions and willing to answer any questions. But, like 1bigdog1 says, check out the seller.

Also, e-bay is like the warehouse joints. Not everything is a bargin. Currently on e-bay is a prop nut for a 1972 Evinrude with an opening bid of $9.??. I bought a new one at a local OMC dealer this afternoon for $6.50. The point is, it helps to know what something is worth before you jump in. To paraphrase a popular saying - be careful what you bid on, you might just get it.

Still, e-bay is a better place to sell someting than to buy something.

Like the state lottery - it's good entertainment.

Re: Ebay

bigdog,

My ebay experiences have been mostly good. My sons have sold alot through ebay.

I have found that the "Buy it Now" feature is the best way to buy something. Otherwise prices tend to get inflated in the bid process.

I have had two "big ticket" items (boats)that I was bidding on "pulled" at the last minute because the seller didn't like the way the bidding was going.

That is bad form.
