I got a chance to try out the changes I had made since the last time we were in the water. I had already tightened up the inside guide ons that guide the front of the boat onto the trailer. The back end was still floating side to side. I added the 42" outside guide posts towards the back and that took care of that problem. I relocated the bow hook from underneath to up on the deck by installing a fold down cargo hook. I was able to just walk forward and hook and unhook the bow strap. I was able to just drive the boat on and hook the strap and signal the wife to drive to the top where I hooked the safety cable and finished getting everything roadworthy in the parking lot. When I relocated the bow hook from 3' underneath to the cargo hook on top I was advised to make sure it is attached to a cross member. So I made sure it was attached very securely and then I removed the front bolt for the winch and tipped it up and bolted it in a position where the strap makes a straight pull.
