Anyone live in the East TN area, Johnson City or Greeneville area. Want to or able to teach a complete newbie what he is doing? I have mechanical ability, just not the knowledge. On a limited budget, Disable Veteran, fixed income. So can't afford to take to a shop.

Thanks, beer and good conversation will be provided!

Stinks that as silly as it sounds ... that's most of a day's drive from Middle Tennessee. It's beautiful over there though.

I get to Knoxville every other month or so, but that's about as far east as I typically get.

Knox is still 1.5-2 hours away. We moved here because of the mountains and I wanted to live at minimum 15 miles from a town!

We live in Elizabethton. 10 minutes from Johnson City and 15 minutes from Bristol. We boat on Watauga Lake mostly, although with Boone Lake being below winter draw down for the repair at Boone dam we will probably spend less time on the lake on the weekends, and more through the week.

I will be at Watauga tomorrow after my son's T-Ball game.

Watauga was busy last weekend, but the lake is large enough it doesn't get dangerous like some lakes do.

If you are familiar with the motor I have, I could use some of that knowledge if you would be willing to share it....lol...it's a 1977 Mercury 1150.

We may go to Watauga tomorrow if I can get my honey do list finished. We've got a 75hp Chrysler on our Starcraft that I've had to wrench on a little. The biggest issue we have had is getting the carbs and fuel system cleaned. She's running pretty good now.

It depends. If Rat Branch isn't to crowded we may put in there, but we usually drive on arround the lake to Little Milligan. We usually stay on the upper end of the lake. Better fishing and less traffic. Where have you launched from?

I don't know the name of it, but it is the first ramp coming from Hampton. Just past the AT and the beach area. Only had one issue there when busy, guy last weekend left his boat at the ramp on the ramp side of dock for 30-45 minutes, so we all had to back in and maneuver around him. Karma paid a visit in the form of DNR giving him a life jacket ticket. So it all worked out, some people don't know how launch and share the space, oh well.

That's Rat Branch. It's the closest ramp to us. Although we can be at the launch across the lake at the lookout at the dam in about the same time. Rat Branch is probably the busiest though because it is the first one you come to going up the lake. We will probably try to be at the lake by 10 or 11 to miss some of the crowd. I'll pm you my info so you can call me or text me when you get to the lake. Of course with the Admiral it's rare we actually make it anywhere at the time we say.

Same here, time only applies to being at work and Dr appointments. Most likely we will head up the lake and start pulling the kids on the tube or just jump in and swim a bit somewhere.

We will probably try to drown some worms tomorrow. My stepson will be at work at Ingles so this will be a quiet trip with just me and the Admiral. She, like me, loves to be on the water. We also like to cruise up the lake and find a nice cove to just float in and watch the traffic.

That's what I am working on the Tri-Hull for. Just something to cruise and fish a little from. My wife likes to read, a lot, and I like to fish, a LOT, so it should work out.....hoping!
