Just felt an earthquake about 10:30PM here in N. GA. It was centered over in SC about a 100 miles away, 4.1 or 4.4 magnitude. Shook pretty good for 10-15 seconds. Haven't felt one since I was last in S. California. I thought Howard Hughes was buying Vegas in preparation of the beachfront casinos, is his estate grabbing up Georgia mountain real estate?

I've only ever felt a small one one time. Gettin' one in our area would really freak me out with all the speculation of the New Mardrid.

You Georgians are havin' a pretty interesting winter.

At least our snow is gone. :) The TV news crew said what a way to finish the week, what's next! It wasn't too far north of where all the power is still out from the ice a couple of days ago, they don't need any added trauma.

No reports of damage or injury, probably find out tomorrow.

Yup, may be frost heaves developing in the southern US states, since the last ice age :D

I lived in CA for a few years in the early 1980's never felt anything. The only (2) earthquakes that I have felt have been in the Boston area, both about 3-4 in magnitude.

South Carolina gets a good many small earthquakes every year. One of the biggest one we had killed 60 people and that was a 7.6. I was snoozing away when this one happened. I read reports where homes shook. Shallow earthquakes are felt by a wide area. Whats next, Locust? haha

... did I mention the rock? No storm cellar. You gotta' ride 'em out like Slim Pickens riding the bomb in Dr. Strangelove.

I'll take your 4.1 earthquake if you take all our snow...
