If I am trying to get my 125 up to temp., will it make it there with only the earmuffs? I know not to rev up with them but I want to heat the motor up. If I can't do this at idle I will take it to the lake. Let me know. Tkanks

I forgot to mention that I was trying to do the check with the freeze mist that I hear you all say. Thanks

You'll prolly do better at the boat ramp, on the trailer and in gear at 2000 RPM.

It might get to "failure temp" on the muffs if you're looking for a thermal intermittant, but it'll take quite a while.

-W

Re: earmuffs vs. lake

If you have a newer 4 cyl. motor, it will make idle temp on the hose (143^ F) because it has thermostat. If it's a 6 cly older unit, it has no thermo and will run fairly cold on the hose or in the lake at idle. Revving on the hose won't heat either motor up because there's no resistance on the motor.
