My engine sounds like it has a timing issue. It will not idle and misses more the more gas I give it. I just cleaned the carb.
However, my lame Seloc manual says the timing is not adjustable. Unfortunately, I took the crankcase pulley off to chase down an electrical problem. Although I marked it, I am not 100% sure I got it back on in the same spot.
How do I know if the pulley is in the correct position?
I did check the following: The "T" on the flywheel and the dot on the pulley meet at the closest point between the two circles every other revolution. Before I suspected a timing problem I set the pulley to what I thought was TDC and seemed like TDC (all valves were fully extended) and adjusted the valve spacing. That makes it seem like the pulley is in the correct position. However, that does not solve the timing issue.
Any other ideas to check the timing? Does it sound like the timing?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
