Jets, and their propensity to find a clump of weeds in the middle of an otherwise clean lake, and the difficulty of removing those when the pump sucks them into the intake, turned me sour on them a long time ago.

Have they figured out how to prevent that?

What about sand and gravel that's been sucked in when operated in shallow water? That was a great way to take out an impeller and wear ring in days gone by. Is that still an issue?

I honestly don't know. Just curious more than anything else. No experience with this newest breed of jets.
