This has been around for a few years and consists of a small ball bearing inside a ceramic chamber. The concept behind it is to call in fish who feel the vibrations while believing there is a distressed baitfish as an easy meal.

I have purchased some tackle with E Chips but never had the anticipated success over conventional alternatives.

Is this another thing that catches more fishermen than fish or does someone have any compelling experiences in using the E Chip.

Re: E Chip

Here in Michigan (as well as other parts of the country) Tackle is BIG business.(Think Cabela's or Bass Pro Shops) New spoons in a "Hot" new color can mean big bucks...etc.

That said, I have fished with a lot of fishermen. Some who use lures (and other tackle) that they have used for years with great success. Others who swear by the new technology, e-chips etc.
I have used both with good luck.

What separates these guys from the "rest of the crowd" is the amount of time they spend on the water.....regardless of what "Hot" lure they were using. ;)
