Hey all, just wondering if there is duty on importing Stabicraft into Canada from Oregon. I am buying it from a dealership. I know they are made in New Zealand. Thoughts?

Duty? Oh yeah.
Just hope its better than the boots I brought it from the U.S that were made in Italy.
You may also be paying duty for the engine. I am sure there are a couple of dealers selling these in B.C so if you really want one you could buy it in Canada.

Thanks guys, I knew I had to declare everything, I thought there is a difference between paying just the tax when entering Canada, and then paying both duty (Tariff) and taxes on items made outside of NA. Was just wondering if someone had brought a Stabicraft over to Canada and what they had to do. I know people who bought a boat and a Yamaha outboard in the us but only had to pay the 5% taxes on it, even though the outboard is Japanese. I will be prepared for paying both:)

I don't know about duty, but you will have to pay the HST at what ever border crossing you enter Canada at with your boat. Be sure to keep that receipt because Revenue Canada ( or whatever branch of the government) will come looking for you, probably about 2 years after the fact looking for their tax dollars. If you don't have the receipt showing the taxes as paid, they will "estimate" the value and you will pay on that value.

End user pays Tariff no matter where the product was manufactured.
It is the initial importer who may not pay if entered into US customs territory for reexport or warehousing.
