I purchased a Larson cabrio 280 last fall. Didn't get to put a lot of hours on her last year, however this year I plan on spending as much time as possible on it, including pulling it up on some sand bars on local rivers. When I look at my duo delta conic hull however, I can't help but imagine that lip digging into the sand when I try to leave, or back it up. Anyone with this hull have any experience or advice? I'm hoping its far enough back that its not an issue, however with my luck, if it can go wrong it does.

I'm not familiar enough with the cabrio 28 hull shape, but the lip I've seen is very small and I would imagine would do much to stop a boat from pulling off the sand. There's always the option if anchoring a few feet out to avoid it all together.

Hi, trapper- welcome to iboats. I wouldn't be concerned about the lip. I don't think it'll hold you up. But, I also wouldn't be running a heavy boat like that (or mine) up onto sand. Not good for the gelcoat. I'm with 25thmustang- anchor off the sand bars.

Thanks guys. Believe me, the only thing I really want the hull of my boat to touch is water, however due to the width of the river and the current, there are a couple spots that touching the front end of the boat onto the sand is required where I go.I have a new coat of bottom paint on the boat, and really do not plan on doing this more than once or twice a year, as the majority of the places I go just involve tossing out my anchors and calling it good. I found a pic online showing one of these small river beaches that I visit to give you an idea.I just wanted to see if anyone had any experience doing this with this hull. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v456/bekosh/Boats/Overnight003.jpg

Yes sir. Up river from Fremont on the wolf. Not sure whose photo I stole, I just did a Google search to show an example.

Protect your hull & gelcoat with a Keelguard for about $175.
