I bought this boat and motor, motor runs great just wasn't pumping water, so I pulled the lower unit to change the water pump, I must admit Ive never done this on a mercury. well to make a long story short I have managed to get my motor and controls out of wack. I frst put the lower unit back on with the lower unit in forward and the controls in forward worked great but, I had no reverse and neutral is where reverse should be, so I took it back off and put the lower unit in reverse and the controls in reverse put it back together as soon as I went into forward it just stayed in forward, so I tried neutral samething once I shifted to forward it stayed in forward, Can someone help a self proclaimed dummy figure out what he is doing wrong
