Dumb move

Went cruising the river last weekend and decided to beach the boat for a bit and swim with the family. What I didnt do was tilt up the outboard and the tide was going out...about an hour later try to leave and its burried. Got it out but much longer and I would have had BIG trouble.

some people use the outboard in the sand to hold the boat there. I personally don't agree that is a good method.
I've found that my power tilt is strong enough to dig out of mud and some sand, if the boat canb move forward a little. Not that I get in that situation on purpose, but it happens where I boat.
Anyway, you can always dig yourself out with your paddle. You do carry one, right?

Of course...gotta have a paddle or two...never know whats in the near future out there on the water
