Hot off ABC news, you can convert diesle engine to a duel fuel which yield 125 miles to the gallon on corn oil.
The kit is 800. bucks, and the proponent claim she gets her oil from the local Chinese restaurant for free. Just has to strain the particulate out of it.
CAN THIS BE TRUE?
http://www.greennature.com/article1083.html

The transit busses in Phoenix have been using Bio-Diesel technology for a couple of years. The city claims to get about 20% better fuel mileage with it. I haven't seen it used in any other application. Hard to believe you could get 125 MPG, but that would be nice. :)

San Francisco was supposed to convert some of their muni bus to this fuel. Don’t how many or when…I do recall something about a french fry smell from the buses was expected.

there was a discusion about this in non boating tech topics. I sincerly doubt the 125mpg though. It is simple technology that has been slow to gain a foothold but it is for real. ;)
