Re: DUAL EXHAUST

I'm not sure what they mean by *dual* exhaust, but the later Force outboards (after Mercury purchased the company) used the modern thru-hub exhaust. Earlier Force motors used the older, Chrysler-derived lower unit with the "over-hub" exhaust. Obviously, the propellors cannot interchange.

I'm not all that familiar with the 1990 Force motors, which lower unit does yours have?

Re: DUAL EXHAUST

I seem to recall that for a period of time Force used a thru hub exhust type prop on the older over the hub exhaust lower unit. I'm not sure if the prop was actually hollow but it looked like it in the ads. The exhaust however, discharged from the over the hub outlet.
Possibly the exhaust discharged from both the over the hub exhaust port and the center of the prop, thus "dual exhaust" but I don't remember it that way.
The earlier motors used the older style prop and the newer motors don't have the over the hub exhaust port.
Just rambling here, but I hope this helps.
Bill.......

had a 90 model 90 hp force, and I was told that the exhaust went through both over and thru. When I took it apart, it didn't seem that way though, to my best recollection.
