DT85 - Won't fire, no apparent spark?

My Suzuki DT85 won't fire. Everything else seems ok. fuel, starter etc. Unhooking the spark plugs they appear ok but no spark when grounded. What is most likely next? CDI? Clymer is confusing on trouble-shooting, lot's of suggested tests but no diagnosis of symptoms....

After much grief I finally figured out it was the kill switch. Put a 3mm wood chip into the "kill cord plug" and put back into socket. Apparently the kill switch was not making sufficient contact....I figured it had to be something simple, the engine ran too well previously even though it had not been run for about a year.....
