The primer bulb never gets real hard. Have checked all connections, etc., no leaks. My in-line (clear) filter shows bubbles. The engine stalls at full throtle after about 30 seconds or so. Help, this is driving me crazy!

Re: DT75 Fuel Problems

might be a bad check valve in the primer bulb
try a nother one and see if it helps
but do you get fuel leaking out of your carb
while pumping bulb
if so then you need to check float valve in carb
bowl

Re: DT75 Fuel Problems

Have someone pump the fuel bulb while you're at WOT. See if it helps. You may have a leaking diaphragm in the fuel pump. There are 2 diaphragms. A leak on one side a leak will suck air and cause a lean condition (you possibly), and a leak on the engine side will squirt fuel directly into the cylinder attached to the pump and cause rich condition in that cylinder (me).

If your in-line filter is showing bubbles you are sucking air somewhere before that point. Usually it'scracked hoses, fittings, or pickup tube in the tank could be bad.

45_red, that is what I thought, too, a leak from the filter to the tank. That all looks good. Should I pressure test it?
Jimd, yes, that seems to help it going. Where can I get a fuel pump repair kit?
fish4970, changed the bulb and I am afraid of touching the carb float.
Thanks all.

Re: DT75 Fuel Problems

The fuel pump kits are about $22 US. and should be available from any Suzuki dealer or online from brownspoint.com. Its an easy fix. Since pumping the fuel bulb helps your problem is either in the pump or the fuel lines to the pump. If you can rule out the fuel lines its gotta be the pump. The pump is connected to crankcase pressure and has 2 diaphragms in it. A leak in either one will cause the problems I described in the earlier post.
