DT30/35 lower units compatible?

Been a while since I posted here, I tried searching but couldn't find anything.

I have an '88 DT30 with some lower unit damage. Someone local has a DT35 lower unit for sale. Is there a way to determine if it's compatible with my motor? I looked up the part numbers and I see that they're different, but I assume that doesn't automatically mean the parts themselves are different. Thanks for any ideas.

Im pretty positive the 25 and 30 gearcase was the same but the 35hp was different.
