I have a dt100 suzuki ,from stone cold in the water the buzzer bleeps every 7/10 seconds and the rev limiter shows .
when i take it out of the water the rev limiter goes off but she still bleeps! when running , when i checked ,it appears that the flow switch brings the rev limiter on when water is flowing and turns it off when water is not flowing,
this is the complete reverse of what should happen any ideas because I fear the worst!

Not familiar with that particular engine but typically an overheat warning is a constant beep. Oil injection problems are intermittent beeps so the cooling system has nothing to do with it.

ok if you replaced the impellar then I would also say a oil problem, check your oil sensors and level flow switch in the oil tank ...

all the oil and water sensors are working impeller ok but the water flow switch brings on the rev limiter when water is flowing and not when out of the water! also it cant be overheat because it happens immediately from cold starting can,t think what,s up!!

hi andy the oil flow sensor is the inline unit under the oil tank and should read open circuit /no pressure and short circuit / same as touching leads together on the tester/ when on a vacuum at the oil pump side with the inlet blocked

Re: DT 100 rev limiter and water flow

Hi seems Im getting nowhere with my problem as posted
I have checked all the recomended tests /oil /water/imp/flow sensors/both oil and water/temp sensors/over rev /oil reset the lot .
none of these make any difference , I am an electrical engineer and have had various boats and engines for over 40 years and have always sorted any problems out this looks like a ciu fault! but at $1000 plus for new unit !
I dont want to get it wrong (neither would you ) as I cant get into the unit because it,s sealed with resin and the ciu tester only checks the HT output what can anyone suggest??

Re: DT 100 rev limiter and water flow

hi well I am here once again
I posted query on the 30 june with all the info regarding oil /water/ overheat /rev limiter /got 11 posts ,,some of which were my own replies to other members
I also sent a personal to rodbolt (no reply)
Who would like to know what the problem was ?as no one got close ! ( CDI UNIT ) sends the wrong info to the monitor when knackered!! but the ignition still works who says CDI,s dont go wrong ?????

I have same issue...
So the problem was CDI UNIT!
Did you change the CDI UNIT and everything works fine after?
