Dry or wet spark plugs?

Trying to get a feel on plugs being wet on my 95 model 50hp Johnson J50TLEOD two cylinder. I've adjust, re-adjusted and then adjusted more and each time I pull plugs and inspect they are always wet. I can't help but think a healthy engine properly adjusted will burn clean, or am I wrong? How many of you have medium size engines in this hp range that actually have dry plugs after running on the water? When I first got this engine one cylinder (top) had a dry plug and the bottom was wet but it wouldn't take throttle so I got the carbs re-built. It now runs okay except for the wet plugs. Am I being too picky? I could just leave it alone and say the heck with it but I feel it shouldn't be doing this. This may be comparing apples to oranges but even my weedwhacker and leafblower (2 strokes) have dry plugs after operation.

You're too picky.
2 strokes leave a wet residue on the plugs due to the oil mix in the fuel and the scavenging process of the engine. You just don't want dripping wet plugs, they will have quite a bit more carbon than any automotive plug.

I had hoped not to hear this. I guess I'll just have to lump it and like it...

They get even wetter if you are just idling it in a test tank or on muffs, but yes, as the previous poster has indicated, a little wetness is normal for a 2 stroke outboard.

What happens when you turn off the ignition? Stops instantly? Of course not, it turns a couple of turns then stops.

During those couple of turns it pumps and scavenges fuel. That will make your plugs wet.

They will never be completely dry as said above.
