Mercruiser Bravo 1 outdrive (only a couple years old) on a custom 454
First time in 20+ years of owning boats, I forgot to put up my outdrive before pulling out of the water. Unfortunately, I pulled up a few feet, then backed down again to get the boat perfectly centered on the trailer, then up 10 feet before I noticed (expletive!) Looked like I just scraped the skeg, but a week later when I put her back in the water for the first time since....
My 'soon to be unimpressed' better-half noticed the boat steaming out the back. Then the temperature shot way up after just a couple minutes warming up in neutral. I shut it down at the sound of the buzzer and pulled it out. She (the boat) normally runs very cool, even when running hard.
Anyone have ideas on what I could have damaged to cause this? Recommended next steps?
I'm reading some forums saying that Bravo 1's don't have impellers in the outdrive?
While I hope it isn't serious, it "walks like a duck and quacks like a duck" right now.
