I have replaced the water pump impeller on my Merc 25 in the past with little difficulty.

I cannot see how to disconnect shifting linkage on my Nissan 6hp 4 Stroke.

What am I missing?

At lower middle leg you should see a coupler that joins both upper and lower shift rods, pull out upper spring pin with a proper pointed tool or same diam nail. Then can disassembly lower leg. Place shift lever to F or R position for proper clearance to work pulling upper coupler pin out. Lightly grease drive shaft upper splines before assembling back lower leg.

Thanks, Sea Rider.

Do you know of a link that has a diagram or instructions?

No Title

No Luis, no roll pin on the 4/5/6. The coupler is inside the DS housing, behind the grommet, accessible through the hole after the grommet is popped out. The head of the bolt is 10 mm. Full info is in the Factory service manual, available from any dealer. Parts catalogs are available online.
