drive squeak

I chickened out on installing my new u-joints and took my drive to a car & truck drivetrain shop to have them installed. I'm now a little concerned that it may have been a bad choice. When I turn the drive shaft at the yoke I hear a rubber squeak like a dry seal. I turned the same piece before I brought the drive in and it was nice and quiet. Is it possible the yoke may be too tight causing that sound? I'm a bit concerned that if I start the engine something bad could happen.
I did some reading and found the connection is supposed to be torqued to 200 ft lbs. Maybe the guy who put in my cross joints has a big mama impact wrench. Have any of you had a squeak when hand turning the drive gears?

Re: drive squeak

You need to go to the Adults Only section and download the proper manual.
The squeak you head is most likely a dry impeller.Perfectly normal.
Dont know where you saw 200Ft/lbs, but it`s not the u joint area.

Re: drive squeak

You are probably right about the impeller, whew.
And that torque value came right out of manual #6. But I am not going to remove the cross joints to check.
When I wet the drive I don't expect it to squeak.
Thank you, I just worked on my drive off & on for the last 4 days that I had off work. I have been trying to think of everything so I can just go boating this summer. And I may now be ready.
Time for a trial splash. Yee hah!
