I'm installing a lasdrop shaft seal and I need advice on were to pull the water from to cool it. I was thinking of teeing into the hose going to the exhaust elbows but was not sure if it would have water on it at all times. When the thermostat opens and needs fresh water, will the spring loaded balls off the thermostat housing prevent water from flowing through this line?

someplace t`d off the raw water hoses after the pump.
$500 buys a lot of flax cord. Looked it up and it requires a pressurized source so that means after the pump and before the engine.

Re: dripless shaft seal help

well it was $310 but the packing nut in my boat is not easy to access and I can get it to keep dripping at higher speeds and it gets hot. this was the best solution.
