Drilling the prop

Has anyone tried this? I have a 87 L6 115 that I'm going to try it on next summer. I have a couple of spare aluminum props that I'm going to experiment with. Any info would be appreciated, hope everyone's new year is off to a great start!

It works good on a stern heavy boat as it allow prop to slip and engine build up rpms. As noted use smallest bit and work your way up..

I'm assuming that you only drill one hole? Seems a little odd on a 3 bladed prop, but it doesn't say anything about making more than one hole.

It's normal to have 1 behind each blade although you can have 2.

I'm not sure aluminum props need exhaust vents as they tend to flatten out on holeshot. Many stainless steel props come with that feature.

well I will give it a shot, I figure worst case is I have to epoxy up some holes! Thanks for the info.
